Seppi

Luciano Seppi, a second generation company owner and a farmer, developed the first 2 in 1 hammer flail mower in 1972. After using a flail mower on his own farm, Mr. Seppi found that if hee replaced the flails with heavier forged hammers an added a rear gate that can open for grass mowing and close for mulching brush and cuttings, he would have one machine that could effectively do two jobs

There was a lot of trial and error to develop this machine, starting a trend within the company that would put Seppi at the forefront of research and development

The first SMO machines were exported to other European countries, and the first North American machines were shipped in 1983.

In 1978, Seppi developed the first commercial 'Forestry Mower,' a machine that can fell and shred trees up to 18" in diameter in one motion.

Today, Seppi manufactures the largest range of machines for any type of mowing. Their product range includes everything from small machines for grass cutting to the largest forestry mowers, using 700 hp and capable of felling and shredding 24" diameter trees.
